Hair Growth Period:
According to hair transplantation treatment, the regrowth stages of hair are defined as day to day, week to week, month to month, and yearly results. However, you have to take good care and follow the instructions which are prescribed by your surgeon after the hair restoration. So, the following steps are defined as regrowth stages of hair transplantation.
Day of Treatment:
Our expert surgeons start defining the stages from the day of treatment or from day 0, which is also included in the cycle. On the day of treatment, the surgeon will transplant the hair according to the method of your choice whether it’s FUT or FUE Hair Transplant. After that, your surgeon will prescribe you a few instructions of aftercare related to your treatment and you have to follow them. Your practitioner will also clarify that you have to experience some minor side effects and issues.
Day 1 to 7:
From day 1 to 7 of hair restoration, this period is used to be the most censorious one, you might experience swelling on the forehead and the backside of the scalp area at the donor area. Your skin also gets red from the site of the area where little incisions were made for restoration, this redness will disappear right after 1 to 2 weeks. However, you have to take good care according to the instructions and this period will survive well.
Day 7 to 16:
After 7 to 16 days of treatment, there will be no more swelling, discomfort, itching or irritation you will feel and no longer experience any redness on the treated area. After that, your scalp skin will be drying out and this scab can easily remove by soaking and mildly rubbing it with fingers. From the 10th day onwards, you may notice restored hairs growing out like a crew-cut haircut.
In 2 to 4 Weeks:
In these weeks, it will be the second most complex time. Your transplanted hair will start shedding at this point. At that time, you will feel like it is not a successful treatment or the hair will never grow permanently but we are here to inform you that it is very common in the healing period and normal occurrence in the growth cycle. The newly restored hair always goes through a shedding process, the actual follicles are starting to grow a new hair shaft.
From the End of Month 1 to Month 2:
At this point right after one month, the follicles have entered into the resting period of the cycle. Whereas, the length of this phase can vary before they start to regrow. In these two months, a candidate will appear exactly as they did before the treatment with regards to the amount of hair present. The new hairs will start coming out after the second month after the treatment and the process of hair growth will be started. Few candidates are starting growing hair at this point and some of them still need time for growing new hairs.
3 to 5 Months Later:
The newly regrowth of hairs starts coming out within 2 to 4 months, at this point some patients already started the growth of hairs and a few of them starts within this period so it depends. The new growth of hair starts from the thin texture at this stage. The donor area of the scalp is healing and any kind of redness at the donor site will disappear. The process of hair restoration is just completed by 20% to 40%.
Completing 6 Months:
The stage of anagen, more commonly known as the growth stage where a candidate begins to grow hair finally and it will be thin hair. Completing 6 months is also required for a checkup session with your hair transplant practitioner. Also, at this point, you can add up more grafts if you think you need more hair volume. This size of the hair will be half-inch high or more and it depends on the candidate’s health.
In the cycle of Hair Regrowth Stages After a Hair Transplant, after 6 months, many of the restored hairs will be over 3 to 4 inches long and able to groom well. After 7 to 9 months, the texture gets changes and hair will get thicken up. The real donor laxity is restored by month 9 and the donor area will completely be healed.
Within 1 Year:
Generally, within one year the candidate will obtain about 80% of the hair growth of the transplanted hairs. In this period, you will observe the density of hair and improvements without any other hair treatment. You have to focus now on outcome maintenance and a lot of changes you will achieve in this whole year.
After One Year:
As mentioned above, many candidates achieved their desired look and goals within one year and sometimes few of them still need more time to achieve thick strands and enhanced volume in results. After that, as the hair grows long, it will provide a complete look and the volume of hair will be increased at the treated area.
